al mando de Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar pretend\u00eda cerrar el paso a las fuerzas de apoyo de Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Barreiro que se dirig\u00eda a la ciudad de Bogot\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maracaibo, Zulia, Venezuela, 25 de julio de 2020 (ND58).-<\/strong> La Batalla del Pantano de Vargas fue un enfrentamiento armado que se libr\u00f3 en lo que hoy se conoce como municipio de Paipa, en la actual Boyac\u00e1 el 25 de julio de 1819.<\/p>\n<p>Esta batalla result\u00f3 muy dif\u00edcil para los hombres al mando de Bol\u00edvar, que estuvieron cerca de la derrota, ya que el ej\u00e9rcito se encontraba agotado y desorganizado tras el dif\u00edcil ascenso al p\u00e1ramo de Pisba, los llaneros guerreros y valientes de los llanos solo llegaron al Pantano de Vargas aproximadamente la mitad, puesto que de la otra mitad un porcentaje se devolvi\u00f3 por el clima y las enfermedades, otra parte dej\u00f3 su vida en el p\u00e1ramo por la libertad de su naci\u00f3n, refiere la historia.<\/p>\n<p>Pantano de Vargas es la m\u00e1xima expresi\u00f3n de patriotismo, amor y sacrificio por defender hasta el \u00faltimo momento la causa de la libertad.<\/p><div
