\u00abno es momento para la complacencia\u00bb pese a los resultados positivos de vacunas experimentales contra la COVID-19 habida cuenta el fuerte aumento de casos en regiones como Europa o Am\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Internacionales, 16 de noviembre de 2020 (ND58).-<\/strong> La eficacia de m\u00e1s del 90 % de esas posibles vacunas, anunciada por compa\u00f1\u00edas como Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech o el laboratorio ruso que desarrolla la Sputnik V, \u00abnos mantienen cautelosamente optimistas en que haya m\u00e1s medios contra el coronavirus en los pr\u00f3ximos meses\u00bb, se\u00f1al\u00f3 el director general.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, ello no oculta \u00abuna extrema preocupaci\u00f3n por el r\u00e1pido aumento de casos, mientras muchos trabajadores sanitarios son puestos al l\u00edmite\u00bb, subray\u00f3 Tedros, dos d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de que se registrara una cifra r\u00e9cord de 660.000 nuevos casos en una sola jornada.<\/p>\n<p>El experto et\u00edope tambi\u00e9n alert\u00f3 de que se est\u00e1 detectando un preocupante n\u00famero de pacientes de COVID-19 con secuelas en su salud a largo plazo tras superar la enfermedad, y record\u00f3 que \u00e9sta la provoca \u00abun peligroso virus que puede atacar cualquier sistema del organismo\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Asegur\u00f3 que todos los pa\u00edses tienen que utilizar todas los recursos a su disposici\u00f3n para seguir combatiendo el avance del coronavirus, desde el rastreo de casos a las cuarentenas de afectados sospechosos, y alert\u00f3 que no hacerlo \u00abpuede llevar a muertes, sufrimiento y efectos en sus econom\u00edas\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La cient\u00edfica jefe de la OMS, Soumya Swaminathan, celebr\u00f3 la mencionada eficacia del 94 por ciento en la vacuna desarrollada por la firma estadounidense Moderna, aunque se\u00f1al\u00f3 que \u00abhay que tener en cuenta m\u00e1s datos y esperar posibles efectos en los pacientes durante al menos dos meses\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Moderna, a diferencia de Pfizer-BioNTech, est\u00e1 en la lista de laboratorios cuya financiaci\u00f3n del desarrollo de vacunas anticovid es apoyada financieramente por la OMS y la comunicad internacional a trav\u00e9s del programa COVAX y a cambio de facilidades en su distribuci\u00f3n en pa\u00edses pobres.<\/p>\n<p>Swaminathan aclar\u00f3 que antes de decidir qu\u00e9 vacunas anticovid, y de qu\u00e9 laboratorios, se distribuir\u00e1n globalmente en este programa se tendr\u00e1n en cuenta distintos criterios: no s\u00f3lo la eficacia sino tambi\u00e9n el coste, las
