auspiciado por la OMS y la Alianza de Vacunas GAVI, fue creado para reducir la desigualdad en la distribuci\u00f3n de vacunas y enviar millones de dosis a pa\u00edses de ingresos medios y bajos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caracas, DC, Venezuela, 07 de septiembre de 2021 (ND58).-<\/strong> Venezuela recibi\u00f3 este martes 693.600 dosis de vacunas contra la COVID-19, de los laboratorios Sinovac, como parte de la adquisici\u00f3n realizada por el pa\u00eds a trav\u00e9s del mecanismo Covax, inform\u00f3 la Organizaci\u00f3n Panamericana de la Salud (OPS).<\/p>\n<p>Las vacunas fueron adquiridas con recursos propios del pa\u00eds a trav\u00e9s del Fondo Rotatorio de la OPS \u2014agente de adquisici\u00f3n reconocido ante Covax para los pa\u00edses de la regi\u00f3n\u2014, y constituyen el primer lote del total de 12.068.000 dosis de vacunas que recibir\u00eda Venezuela por medio de este mecanismo.<\/p>\n<p>La OPS record\u00f3 que se ha evaluado la \u00abcalidad, seguridad y eficacia\u00bb de las vacunas, por lo que \u00abcumplen las normas internacionales de inocuidad, eficacia y fabricaci\u00f3n\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan explic\u00f3 la organizaci\u00f3n, las vacunas se entregaron la madrugada de este martes en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquet\u00eda Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar, \u00aben presencia de las autoridades del Ministerio para la Salud y de la OPS\u00bb y \u00abya se encuentran en resguardo para su posterior distribuci\u00f3n\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>El pasado domingo, el presidente Nicol\u00e1s Maduro asegur\u00f3 que el primer lote de vacunas del mecanismo Covax llegar\u00eda esta semana, mientras que la propia OPS hab\u00eda explicado dos d\u00edas antes que dicha llegada se producir\u00eda a finales de septiembre.<\/p>\n<p>Previamente, el d\u00eda 2 de agosto, el mandatario hab\u00eda dicho que las dosis procedentes del sistema Covax entrar\u00edan en Venezuela \u00aben los pr\u00f3ximos d\u00edas\u00bb, pero fue m\u00e1s de un mes despu\u00e9s cuando lleg\u00f3 el primer lote.<\/p>\n<p>Esta es la primera de varias entregas que se realizar\u00e1n hasta completar la cantidad de dosis de vacunas necesarias para inmunizar, seg\u00fan la OPS, a aproximadamente el 20 % de la poblaci\u00f3n, \u00abdentro de la cual se encuentran los grupos priorizados en seguimiento a las recomendaciones de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS)\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La planificaci\u00f3n para la distribuci\u00f3n y la \u00abdefinici\u00f3n de las poblaciones priorizadas\u00bb, as\u00ed como las estrategias de vacunaci\u00f3n y seguimiento de la log\u00edstica han estado a cargo del Ministerio para la Salud, la OPS, Unicef y otros socios que no fueron detallados por la fuente.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, \u00abse han aunado esfuerzos para el uso de recursos de Venezuela en el exterior para garantizar la cadena de fr\u00edo y conservar correctamente las vacunas desde los almacenes de refrigeraci\u00f3n nacional y regionales hasta los puntos de vacunaci\u00f3n a nivel local\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La OPS se\u00f1al\u00f3 que tambi\u00e9n se est\u00e1 apoyando en la capacitaci\u00f3n y la movilizaci\u00f3n de vacunadores hacia comunidades de dif\u00edcil acceso, el fortalecimiento de los sistemas de informaci\u00f3n y comunicaci\u00f3n, la implementaci\u00f3n de un sistema de vigilancia de \u00abeventos posvacunales, y en el dise\u00f1o de planes de monitoreo y para la comunicaci\u00f3n de riesgo\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Maduro inform\u00f3 recientemente que Venezuela lleva \u00abun 30 % de poblaci\u00f3n vacunada\u00bb, pero no especific\u00f3 que ese porcentaje corresponde a ciudadanos que han recibido una sola dosis, pues solo el 10 % ha recibido la pauta completa, seg\u00fan el c\u00f3mputo de la OPS.<\/p><div
