Uno de ellos, de vital importancia para humanidad, es el clima de la Tierra.<\/p>\n<p>En su argumento, la Real Academia de las Ciencias Sueca se\u00f1ala que los sistemas complejos se caracterizan por la aleatoriedad y el desorden y son dif\u00edciles de entender y el premio de este a\u00f1o reconoce nuevos m\u00e9todos para describirlos y predecir su comportamiento a largo plazo.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abLos descubrimientos reconocidos este a\u00f1o demuestran que nuestros conocimientos sobre el clima se apoyan en una s\u00f3lida base cient\u00edfica, basada en un riguroso an\u00e1lisis de las observaciones\u00bb, dijo en la rueda de prensa de presentaci\u00f3n del galard\u00f3n, Thors Hans Hansson, presidente del Comit\u00e9 Nobel de F\u00edsica.<\/p>\n<p>Todos los galardonados de este a\u00f1o han contribuido -agreg\u00f3- a que \u00abconozcamos mejor las propiedades y la evoluci\u00f3n de los sistemas f\u00edsicos complejos\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Manabe y Hasselmann han sido galardonados conjuntamente con una mitad del Nobel \u00abpor el modelado f\u00edsico del clima de la Tierra, cuantificando la variabilidad y prediciendo de manera confiable el calentamiento global\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La otra mitad del premio recae en Parisi \u00abpor el descubrimiento de la interacci\u00f3n del desorden y las fluctuaciones en los sistemas f\u00edsicos desde escalas at\u00f3micas a planetarias\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>El japon\u00e9s Manabe, de 90 a\u00f1os, demostr\u00f3 c\u00f3mo el aumento de los niveles de di\u00f3xido de carbono en la atm\u00f3sfera conduce a un aumento de las temperaturas en la superficie de la Tierra.<\/p>\n<p>En la d\u00e9cada de 1960 dirigi\u00f3 el desarrollo de modelos f\u00edsicos del clima terrestre y fue la primera persona en explorar la interacci\u00f3n entre el balance de radiaci\u00f3n y el transporte vertical de masas de aire.<\/p>\n<p>Su trabajo sent\u00f3 las bases para el desarrollo de modelos clim\u00e1ticos actuales.<\/p>\n<p>El alem\u00e1n Hasselmann, de 89 a\u00f1os, cre\u00f3 aproximadamente diez a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s un modelo que vincula el tiempo y el clima, respondiendo as\u00ed a la pregunta de por qu\u00e9 los modelos clim\u00e1ticos pueden ser fiables a pesar de que el tiempo es cambiante y ca\u00f3tico.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n desarroll\u00f3 m\u00e9todos para identificar se\u00f1ales espec\u00edficas, como huellas dactilares, que tanto los fen\u00f3menos naturales como las actividades humanas imprimen en el clima.<\/p>\n<p>Sus m\u00e9todos se han utilizado para demostrar que el aumento de temperatura en la atm\u00f3sfera se debe a las emisiones humanas de di\u00f3xido de carbono.<\/p>\n<p>Alrededor de 1980, el italiano Parisi, de 73 a\u00f1os, descubri\u00f3 patrones ocultos en materiales complejos desordenados.<\/p>\n<p>Sus descubrimientos se encuentran entre las contribuciones m\u00e1s importantes a la teor\u00eda de sistemas complejos.<\/p>\n<p>Permiten comprender y describir muchos materiales y fen\u00f3menos que parecen ser totalmente aleatorios, no solo en la f\u00edsica sino tambi\u00e9n en otras \u00e1reas muy diferentes, como las matem\u00e1ticas, la biolog\u00eda, la neurociencia y el aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p>El anuncio del premio de F\u00edsica sigue al de Medicina, ayer, que fue para los bi\u00f3logos moleculares David Julius y Ardem Patapoutian por sus descubrimientos sobre los receptores de la temperatura y el tacto, y en los pr\u00f3ximos d\u00edas se conocer\u00e1n los de Qu\u00edmica, de Literatura de la Paz y de
