\"\"\u00a0El director general de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, asegur\u00f3 hoy que el mundo \u00abnunca ha estado tan cerca del fin de la pandemia de covid-19\u00bb, despu\u00e9s de que la semana pasada se registrara la cifra m\u00e1s baja de fallecidos por coronavirus desde marzo de 2020.<\/p>\n

Ginebra, 14 septiembre de 2022 (ND58).- <\/strong>\u00abA\u00fan no estamos all\u00ed, pero el fin de la pandemia est\u00e1 a la vista\u00bb,\u00a0subray\u00f3 Tedros en su rueda de prensa semanal, en la que pidi\u00f3 que no se frenen por ello los esfuerzos para combatir la covid-19, ya que \u00abun corredor de marat\u00f3n no se para cuando comienza a ver la l\u00ednea de meta\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Tedros insisti\u00f3 en que detenerse ahora \u00abes correr el riesgo de m\u00e1s variantes del coronavirus, m\u00e1s muertes, m\u00e1s problemas y mayor incertidumbre\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Para ayudar en esta \u00abrecta final\u00bb,\u00a0Tedros anunci\u00f3 que la OMS ha emitido hoy un plan de asesoramiento para pol\u00edticas sanitarias nacionales,\u00a0\u00abbasado en las evidencias de los \u00faltimos 32 meses sobre lo que funciona mejor para salvar vidas, proteger las redes de salud y evitar perturbaciones que afecten a la econom\u00eda y la sociedad\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Entre las recomendaciones, que mencion\u00f3 el propio Tedros, figuran el invertir en la vacunaci\u00f3n especialmente en grupos de riesgo, la continuidad de los test de coronavirus en laboratorio para controlar posibles nuevas variantes y mejoras en los sistemas sanitarios.<\/p>\n
