Ciudad del Vaticano, 9 de enero de 2023 (ND58).-<\/strong> \u00abLa pena de muerte no puede ser utilizada para una presunta justicia de Estado, puesto que esta no constituye un disuasivo, ni ofrece justicia a las v\u00edctimas, sino que alimenta solamente la sed de venganza\u00bb, dijo en su tradicional discurso de comienzos de a\u00f1o ante el cuerpo diplom\u00e1tico acreditado ante la Santa Sede.<\/p>\n

\u00abHago, por tanto, un llamamiento para que la pena de muerte, que es siempre inadmisible pues atenta contra la inviolabilidad y la dignidad de las personas, sea abolida de las legislaciones de todos los pa\u00edses del mundo\u00bb, a\u00f1adi\u00f3.<\/p>
