Desde 2016, este dispositivo fue descatalogado, pero a\u00fan vive en la memoria de la generaci\u00f3n de los ochenta.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maracaibo, Zulia, Venezuela, 07 de junio de 2017 (D58).-<\/strong> Hace 42 a\u00f1os, Sony lanz\u00f3 al mercado un aparato novedoso que lleg\u00f3 para revolucionar la vida de los adolescentes de la \u00e9poca: el Betamax. Se trata de un formato de video anal\u00f3gico, hoy descatalogado, introducido por la marca nipona en junio de 1975, con el prop\u00f3sito de ser la alternativa en video al cl\u00e1sico casete compacto de audio de Philips.<\/p>\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de una d\u00e9cada de anuncios, Sony presentaba su sistema de cinta de video en color que permit\u00eda grabar programas de televisi\u00f3n mientras se ve\u00eda otro canal y verlo posteriormente. De tama\u00f1o m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o que su competencia VHS de JVC, Betamax ten\u00eda mayor resoluci\u00f3n o calidad de imagen y mejor calidad de sonido.<\/p>\n<p>El videograbador Betamax lleg\u00f3 a Venezuela a principios de los 80. Con el dispositivo se populariz\u00f3 la opci\u00f3n de poder ver pel\u00edculas de estreno en casa, grabar un m\u00e1ximo de una hora de video y tambi\u00e9n regrabar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-65278\" src=\"http:\/\/digital58.com.ve\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/shutterstock_2737992.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"997\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digital58.com.ve\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/shutterstock_2737992.jpg 800w, https:\/\/digital58.com.ve\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/shutterstock_2737992-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/digital58.com.ve\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/shutterstock_2737992-768x510.jpg 768w, https:\/\/digital58.com.ve\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/shutterstock_2737992-1500x997.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/digital58.com.ve\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/shutterstock_2737992-720x480.jpg 720w, https:\/\/digital58.com.ve\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/shutterstock_2737992-480x320.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Los primeros modelos de Betamax no permit\u00edan rebobinar las cintas de video. Hab\u00eda que comprar aparte un rebobinador. Tampoco ten\u00edan la funci\u00f3n de la grabaci\u00f3n programada. Luego a partir de mediados de los 80, el Betamax de Sony contaba con la funcionalidad de dejar programado la grabaci\u00f3n de un programa para una determinada fecha y hora.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s del Betamax de Sony se situaron otros fabricantes como Sanyo, Toshiba, Pioneer, Aiwa y NEC. En Venezuela hab\u00eda una fuerte competencia entre las empresas distribuidoras de video como Rodven y Videorama Stereo. Con el Betamax nacieron los primeros videoclubs de alquiler de pel\u00edculas.<\/p>\n<p>En 1984, Sony vendi\u00f3 dos millones 300 mil unidades de Betamax. Su competidor vendi\u00f3 tres veces esa cantidad. La carrera estaba perdida. En 1988, Sony admiti\u00f3 su derrota y anunci\u00f3 la producci\u00f3n de una l\u00ednea de grabadoras en VHS. VHS ten\u00eda el 95 % del mercado. El resultado, VHS se convertir\u00eda en el est\u00e1ndar por los pr\u00f3ximos 10 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>El gigante tecnol\u00f3gico nip\u00f3n Sony dej\u00f3 de vender en 2016 cintas de video del formato Betamax tras la ca\u00edda de su demanda en Jap\u00f3n, el \u00fanico pa\u00eds donde todav\u00eda se comercializaba este sistema.<\/p><div class=\"ptlzk6a2febce80949\" ><p style=\"text-align:
