La exposici\u00f3n inadecuada a los rayos solares constituye el principal factor de riesgo de esta enfermedad que puede prevenirse con h\u00e1bitos saludables de fotoprotecci\u00f3n desde la infancia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caracas, DC, Venezuela, 09 de junio de 2017 (D58).-<\/strong> De acuerdo a la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS), el c\u00e1ncer de piel es el tumor maligno m\u00e1s frecuente en los seres humanos. La exposici\u00f3n intensa y prolongada a los rayos del sol son el principal causante de esta condici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, existen otros factores de riesgo como: antecedentes familiares de c\u00e1ncer, ser de raza blanca, tener los ojos de color azul, ser rubio o pelirrojo y la presencia de m\u00e1s de 50 lunares en el cuerpo.<\/p>\n<p>Las cifras de la OMS muestran que, de los tipos c\u00e1ncer de piel existentes, el m\u00e1s temido es el melanoma. Esta enfermedad es causante del 75 a 80 por ciento de todas las muertes por c\u00e1nceres cut\u00e1neos, que se originan cuando las c\u00e9lulas del cuerpo comienzan a crecer de forma descontrolada, seguido por el carcinoma espinocelular.<\/p>\n<p>Al ser un tumor maligno de melanocitos (c\u00e9lula que produce melanina cuya principal funci\u00f3n es dar color a los tejidos, aumentando as\u00ed a nivel de la piel la fotoprotecci\u00f3n natural), la piel es su lugar m\u00e1s frecuente de presentaci\u00f3n, pero puede aparecer en otros sitios como el ojos, iris, el sistema nervioso central y el sistema digestivo. Pueden ser malos desde el inicio o nacer a partir de un lunar que tuvo una transformaci\u00f3n maligna.<\/p>\n<p>Aclar\u00f3 que los lunares en el cuerpo son normales, pero si uno de ellos empieza a tener cambios distinto a los otros en su aspecto como el color, di\u00e1metro, elevaci\u00f3n, picor o sangrado, hay que acudir r\u00e1pidamente al dermat\u00f3logo para que reviste cualquier indicio sospechoso, ya que cuando el c\u00e1ncer se detecta con anticipaci\u00f3n hay mayor probabilidad de que no se extienda a otras partes del cuerpo y el tratamiento surta un mejor efecto.<\/p>\n<p>Existen otros tipos de c\u00e1ncer cut\u00e1neos no melanoma, cuya principal causa es tambi\u00e9n la exposici\u00f3n inadecuada a los rayos solares. El m\u00e1s com\u00fan es el de c\u00e9lulas basales que tiene un aspecto de lesi\u00f3n nodular de color de la piel, perlada, brillante, con un vaso sangu\u00edneo tipo ara\u00f1a en su superficie. No duele ni molesta pero s\u00ed puede sangrar. Se localiza m\u00e1s frecuentemente en cara, orejas y cuero cabelludo.<\/p>\n<p>Manc\u00edn indic\u00f3 que esta es una causa muy frecuente en las consultas m\u00e9dicas, donde se ve un promedio de 4 a 5 pacientes por semana. Se origina en los estratos espinosos de la epidermis y su aspecto cl\u00ednico es el de un \u00e1rea elevada, rosada escamosa o descamativa, verrugosa que afecta generalmente \u00e1reas expuestas al sol; cabeza, orejas, cuero cabelludo, labios. Puede aparecer tambi\u00e9n en lesiones cr\u00f3nicas como \u00falceras o en la piel cicatrizada por quemaduras.<\/p>\n<p>En cuanto al diagn\u00f3stico y el tratamiento de la enfermedad, la especialista en tumores de piel coment\u00f3, que mientras m\u00e1s temprano se hagan mejores ser\u00e1n los resultados. Por ello, recomend\u00f3 hacerse un examen de piel regularmente, y ante la presencia de cualquier lesi\u00f3n, que en un per\u00edodo de tres meses no se sepa qu\u00e9 es y vaya creciendo, consultar al especialista quien, con un aparato llamado dermatoscopio, puede hacer un mejor y adecuado diagn\u00f3stico.<\/p>\n<p>La exploraci\u00f3n debe hacerse al menos una vez al mes aplicando lo que se conoce como el ABCDE para la prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer de piel. Seg\u00fan esta regla, siempre que un lunar cumpla con una de las siguientes caracter\u00edsticas es necesario consultar r\u00e1pidamente al m\u00e9dico:<\/p><div class=\"iquxb6aeb7d6473900\" ><p
