Est\u00e1 a una altitud de 825 metros sobre el nivel del mar, lo cual le da un clima agradable. Muchas calles tienen fuertes pendientes. La parte m\u00e1s elevada de la ciudad es el Este.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maracaibo, Zulia, Venezuela, 31 de marzo de 2018 (D58).-<\/strong> San Crist\u00f3bal fue fundada el 31 de marzo de 1561, por el capit\u00e1n y adelantado Juan Maldonado y Ordo\u00f1ez, lo cual la hace una de las ciudades m\u00e1s antiguas de Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p>San Crist\u00f3bal es una ciudad eminentemente comercial, debido a que es la capital de estado, a su importancia regional y a su proximidad de la frontera con Colombia, y en particular de la ciudad de C\u00facuta.
